To lots of people, buying a cheese cutting board may seem a bit silly. Many people currently own a regular cutting board so what do they need one that is specific for cheese?

This is exactly what I thought for a long time. I need to say that my fiance and I are big cheese eaters, however we were more than happy using a normal cutting board and not spending the extra cash to buy one which is made for cheese (no matter how cute a Swiss cheese cutting board may look!). It just seemed like a waste of money.

This continued on until about six months ago when I noticed a cheese cutting board for sale at the local grocery store. It was adorable, Swiss cheese holes carved into it, and was extremely cheap. It came with a cheese wire cutter as well as soft cheese knives.

I must say, that the combination of the great knives in addition to the wire cutter really helped us cut cheese more rapidly and efficiently. We also use the board to serve cheese on and we are constantly getting questioned about it! My friends absolutely adore it.

After all this, I'd certainly buy another one of these if faced with the opportunity. I cannot believe that we went so many years without one, thinking that our regular board would do it fine.
